The Manatee County NAACP holds community forum to address the offensive and sexiest comments made by CEO of Manatee Boys and Girls Club.  The community attendance was great and questions raised were thoughtful and insightful.  Three (3) Boys & Girls Club Board members were present to hear comments and address the attendees.  We thank the Board for coming out to hear the community’s thoughts on Mr. Dosogne’s comments.  There was a good representation from the clergy present along with our State Representative Darryl Rouson, three (3) candidates running for office, Terri Wonder (County Commission at Large), Rodney Jones (Manatee Co. NAACP asks Boys & Girls Board of Directors to remove CEO

The Manatee County NAACP has called for the removal of the CEO of Manatee Boys & Girls Club for racist and offensive words used in an email to staff.  His email stated he will not hire anyone who meets the criteria below: 1. Boys with dreds 2. Teen age girls who had babies 3. College  drop outs 4. Anyone with tatooos, body piercing 5. Bradenton Housing Authority

The Bradenton Housing Authority is looking at hiring an executive director after abrupt removal of previous one by HUD.  I caution them to move slow in selecting a new director.  I am recommending they do a national search before entering a 1 year contract with interim director.  Interim simply standing in the gap until a new director is hired.
